Adam related to us; Shu‘ba related to us, from Abu Ishaq, who said: I heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid say: I heard Ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) say of the surahs Bani Isra’il, al-Kahf, and Maryam: “They are among the earliest [revealed], and they are among my long-treasured recitations.”
Ibn Abbas said: “They will shake their heads” means “they will move them.” Another authority said: “Your tooth moved” means “it became loose.”
