Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Seventy thousand people of my followers will enter Paradise without accounts, and they are those who do not practice Ar-Ruqya and do not see an evil omen in things, and put their trust in their Lord.
To make the Heart Tender (Ar-Riqaq)
Sahih al-Bukhari - Hadith 6472
Hadith Text
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Seventy thousand people of my followers will enter Paradise without accounts, and they are those who do not practice Ar-Ruqya and do not see an evil omen in things, and put their trust in their Lord."
Commentary on the Seventy Thousand
This number signifies a multitude blessed with divine grace, not a literal limitation. The scholars explain that these are the foremost in faith who attain Paradise without reckoning due to their complete reliance upon Allah and purity of belief.
Refraining from Ar-Ruqya
The prohibition refers to seeking ruqya from others when one possesses sufficient trust in Allah. The scholars differentiate between permissible ruqya using Qur'anic verses and prohibited forms involving shirk or innovation. These blessed ones rely solely on Allah's healing.
Rejection of Evil Omens
Seeing bad omens in creatures or events contradicts tawakkul. The pious do not attribute events to created things but recognize everything occurs by Allah's decree. This reflects complete submission to divine will without superstitious beliefs.
Perfect Trust in Allah
Tawakkul constitutes the foundation of this hadith. It means relying utterly on Allah while taking lawful means. These believers anchor their hearts to Allah alone, making them worthy of entering Paradise without the fearful interrogation.
