Prolonging certain sounds while reciting the Qur'an Sahih al-Bukhari 5045
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ الأَزْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ عَنْ قِرَاءَةِ النَّبِيِّ، صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ كَانَيَمُدُّ مَدًّا.
Translation
Narrated Qatada
I asked Anas bin Malik about the recitation of the Prophet. He said, "He used to pray long (certain sounds) very much.
