حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَعْتَقَ صَفِيَّةَ، وَتَزَوَّجَهَا وَجَعَلَ عِتْقَهَا صَدَاقَهَا، وَأَوْلَمَ عَلَيْهَا بِحَيْسٍ.

Musaddad narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-Wārith, from Shuʿayb, from Anas: The Messenger of Allah freed Ṣafiyyah and married her, making her emancipation her bridal gift. He held a wedding feast for her with ḥays, a dish of dates, ghee, and dried curds.
