Sahih al-Bukhari 7227
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لأُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَأُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ، ثُمَّ أُحْيَا، ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ، ثُمَّ أُحْيَا، ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ، ثُمَّ أُحْيَا " . فَكَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُهُنَّ ثَلاَثًا أَشْهَدُ بِاللَّهِ.
Abū Hurayra reported that the Messenger of God said: “By the One in whose hand is my soul, I would love to fight in the path of God and be killed, then be brought back to life, then be killed, then brought back to life, then be killed, then brought back to life, then be killed, then be brought back to life.”
Abū Hurayra used to repeat these words three times, saying, “I swear by God.”
