Laqit ibn Sabrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Perform ablution thoroughly, pass your fingers between your fingers, and draw water thoroughly into your nose—unless you are fasting.” The Four reported it, and Ibn Khuzaymah graded it authentic. 1 — Authentic. Abu Dawud (142 and 143), al-Nasa'i (1/66 and 69), al-Tirmidhi (38), Ibn Majah (448), and Ibn Khuzaymah (150 and 168) reported it through Asim ibn Laqit ibn Sabrah, from his father.

  • وَخَلِّلْ بَيْنَ اَلْأَصَابِعِ

The Arabic says to pass between the fingers; the witness specifies fingers of both hands and toes, which is more explicit than this unit.

Should the added reference to toes be treated as witness explicitation outside the supplied wording?
