Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to relieve himself and asked me to bring him three stones. I found two stones but not a third, so I brought him a piece of dung. He took the two stones and discarded the dung, saying, ‘This is filth.’ Al-Bukhari transmitted it. 1 — Sahih. Reported by al-Bukhari (156).

The historical English witness adds ‘dried’; the Arabic says only that Ibn Mas'ud brought a piece of dung.
Should the drying detail be removed or documented as an addition in the witness?
