حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ النَّاجِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ، ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ رُخِّصَ لَهُنَّ فِي الذَّيْلِ ذِرَاعًا فَكُنَّ يَأْتِيَنَّا فَنَذْرَعُ لَهُنَّ بِالْقَصَبِ ذِرَاعًا .
Translation
Abū Bakr narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī narrated to us, from Sufyān, from Zayd al-ʿAmmī, from Abū al-Ṣiddīq al-Nājī, from Ibn ʿUmar, that the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, were granted an allowance of one cubit for their hems. They would come to us, and we would measure out one cubit for them with a reed.
