حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنِ الدِّيبَاجِ وَالْحَرِيرِ وَالإِسْتَبْرَقِ .
Translation
Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us; ʿAlī ibn Mushir narrated to us, from al-Shaybānī, from Ashʿath ibn Abī al-Shaʿthāʾ, from Muʿāwiyah ibn Suwayd, from al-Barāʾ, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade dibāj, silk, and istabraq (heavy brocade).
