Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ وَالذَّهَبِ وَقَالَ " هُوَ لَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَلَنَا فِي الآخِرَةِ " .
Translation
Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us; Wakīʿ narrated to us, from Shuʿbah, from al-Ḥakam, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Laylā, from Ḥudhayfah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade wearing silk and gold, and said: “They are for them in this world and for us in the Hereafter.”
