Sunan Ibn Majah 3596
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي فَاخِتَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي هُبَيْرَةُ بْنُ يَرِيمَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، أَنَّهُ أُهْدِيَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ حُلَّةٌ مَكْفُوفَةٌ بِحَرِيرٍ إِمَّا سَدَاؤُهَا وَإِمَّا لُحْمَتُهَا فَأَرْسَلَ بِهَا إِلَىَّ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَصْنَعُ بِهَا أَلْبَسُهَا قَالَ " لاَ وَلَكِنِ اجْعَلْهَا خُمُرًا بَيْنَ الْفَوَاطِمِ " .
Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Sulaymān narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Abī Ziyād, from Abū Fākhitah. Hubayrah ibn Yarīm narrated to me, from ʿAlī, that a suit edged with silk was given to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace—either its warp or its weft was silk. He sent it to me. I came to him and said, “Messenger of Allah, what should I do with it? Shall I wear it?” He replied, “No, but make it into head coverings for the Fāṭimahs.”
