Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْبَحْرَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعُ بْنُ مُحْرِزٍ النَّاجِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ جَهْمٍ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " مَنْ لَبِسَ ثَوْبَ شُهْرَةٍ أَعْرَضَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ حَتَّى يَضَعَهُ مَتَى وَضَعَهُ " .
Translation
Al-ʿAbbās ibn Yazīd al-Baḥrānī narrated to us; Wakīʿ ibn Muḥriz al-Nājī narrated to us; ʿUthmān ibn Jahm narrated to us, from Zirr ibn Ḥubaysh, from Abū Dharr, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: “Whoever wears a garment of notoriety, Allah turns away from him until he takes it off—whenever he takes it off.”
