حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏"‏ لاَ تَدْخُلُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلاَ صُورَةٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It wasnarrated that ‘Aishah said

“Jibril (as) promised theMessengerof Allah (ﷺ) that he would come to him at a certain hour,but hewas late. The Prophet (ﷺ) went out and there was Jibrilstanding atthe door. He said: ‘What kept you from entering?’ He said:‘Thereis a dog in the house, and we do not enter a house in whichthere isa dog or an image.’”
