Sunan Ibn Majah 3573

ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad narrated to us; Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from al-ʿAlāʾ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from his father, who said: I asked Abū Saʿīd, “Did you hear anything from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, about the lower wrap?” He replied, “Yes. I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: ‘The believer’s lower wrap should reach halfway down his shins. There is no blame on him for what is between that and the ankles, but whatever is below the ankles is in the Fire.’” He said three times: “Allah will not look at the one who drags his lower wrap out of arrogance.”
