Al-Layth ibn Saʿd added: ʿAṭāʾ ibn Abī Rabāḥ al-Makkī narrated to me from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh, from the Prophet ﷺ, the same report.

Nabīdh is a drink prepared by soaking fruit; the wording here prohibits combining the two named fruits in each preparation.
Busr refers to unripe dates, while ruṭab are fresh, ripe dates.
The second paragraph is a chain note by al-Layth ibn Saʿd, preserved separately from the main report.
The verb nabhadha refers to preparing a soaked fruit drink, but the report does not state the preparation details or duration.
What exact preparation method is intended by preparing nabīdh from the named fruits?
