Sunan Ibn Majah 3106

Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah, ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad, and ʿAmr ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; they said: Wakīʿ narrated to us, from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah, from his father, from Nājiya al-Khuzāʿī. The version transmitted by ʿAmr says that Nājiya was in charge of the sacrificial camels for the Prophet. He said: I asked, “Messenger of God, what should I do with a sacrificial camel that becomes injured?” He said, “Slaughter it, dip its sandal in its blood, mark its side with it, then leave it among the people so they may eat it.”
