حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ نُفِسَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ بِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَغْتَسِلَ وَتَسْتَثْفِرَ بِثَوْبٍ وَتُهِلَّ .
Translation
ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad narrated to us: Yaḥyā ibn Ādam narrated to us, from Sufyān, from Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad, from his father, from Jābir, who said: Asmāʾ bint ʿUmays gave birth to Muḥammad ibn Abī Bakr. She sent word to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he instructed her to bathe, bind herself with a cloth, and enter the state of consecration.
