Sunan Ibn Majah 2931

Hishām ibn ʿAmmār and Muḥammad ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ narrated to us, both saying: Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Dīnār, from Jābir ibn Zayd Abū al-Shaʿthāʾ, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, delivering a sermon—Hishām said, on the pulpit—and he said: “Whoever cannot find a waist wrapper may wear trousers, and whoever cannot find sandals may wear leather socks.” Hishām added in his version: “Let him wear trousers if he cannot find a waist wrapper.”
