Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ " .
Translation
Abū Muṣʿab narrated to us: Mālik ibn Anas narrated to us, from Nāfiʿ and from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dīnār, from Ibn ʿUmar, that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever cannot find sandals may wear leather socks, but should cut them below the ankles.”
