Sunan Ibn Majah 2943

Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah and ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad narrated to us, both saying: Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us: ʿĀṣim al-Aḥwal narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sarjis, who said: I saw the bald-fronted ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb kiss the Black Stone and say: “I am kissing you, though I know you are a stone that neither harms nor benefits. Had I not seen the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, kiss you, I would not have kissed you.”
