حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْخُشَنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ " الْحَجُّ جِهَادٌ وَالْعُمْرَةُ تَطَوُّعٌ " .
Translation
Hishām ibn ʿAmmār narrated to us: al-Ḥasan ibn Yaḥyā al-Khushanī narrated to us: ʿUmar ibn Qays narrated to us: Ṭalḥah ibn Yaḥyā informed me, from his uncle Isḥāq ibn Ṭalḥah, from Ṭalḥah ibn ʿUbayd Allāh, that he heard the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) say, “Hajj is striving for God, and ʿumrah is voluntary.”
