Translation

Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah and ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad narrated to us; they said: Wakīʿ narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us, from Bukayr ibn ʿAṭāʾ. I heard ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Yaʿmur al-Dīlī say: I was present with the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) while he stood at ʿArafah. Some people from Najd came to him and said, “Messenger of God, what is Hajj?” He said, “Hajj is ʿArafah. Whoever arrives before the dawn prayer on the night of Muzdalifah has completed his Hajj. The days at Minā are three; whoever leaves after two days bears no sin, and whoever stays longer bears no sin.” Then he had a man ride behind him and began calling these words aloud. Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā narrated to us: ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us: al-Thawrī informed us, from Bukayr ibn ʿAṭāʾ al-Laythī, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Yaʿmur al-Dīlī, who said: I came to the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) at ʿArafah. A group of people from Najd came to him, and he mentioned a report similar to the above. Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā said: I do not think al-Thawrī narrated a report more distinguished than this one.
