حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ قَالَتْ قُرَيْشٌ نَحْنُ قَوَاطِنُ الْبَيْتِ لاَ نُجَاوِزُ الْحَرَمَ . فَقَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ {ثُمَّ أَفِيضُوا مِنْ حَيْثُ أَفَاضَ النَّاسُ } .
Translation
Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā narrated to us: ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us: al-Thawrī informed us, from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah, from his father, from ʿĀʾishah, who said: Quraysh said, “We are the residents of the House; we do not go beyond the Sacred Precinct.” Then God, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: «Then depart from where the people depart.»
