Muḥammad ibn Bashshār narrated to us: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us, from Ibrāhīm ibn ʿUqbah, from Kurayb, from Usāmah ibn Zayd, who said: I departed with the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him). When he reached the ravine where the rulers alight, he dismounted to urinate and performed ablution. I said, “The prayer?” He said, “The prayer is ahead of you.” When he reached Muzdalifah, the call to prayer and the announcement to begin were made; he prayed the sunset prayer, then no one from the people left until he stood and prayed the night prayer.
