Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَهَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ لَمْ يُرَخِّصِ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ لأَحَدٍ يَبِيتُ بِمَكَّةَ إِلاَّ لِلْعَبَّاسِ مِنْ أَجْلِ السِّقَايَةِ .
Translation
ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad and Hannād ibn al-Sarī narrated to us; they said: Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us, from Ismāʿīl ibn Muslim, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted no one permission to stay overnight in Makkah except al-ʿAbbās, because of the water supply.
