حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ خَمْسٌ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ لاَ جُنَاحَ عَلَى مَنْ قَتَلَهُنَّ - أَوْ قَالَ فِي قَتْلِهِنَّ - وَهُوَ حَرَامٌ الْعَقْرَبُ وَالْغُرَابُ وَالْحِدَأَةُ وَالْفَأْرَةُ وَالْكَلْبُ الْعَقُورُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Translation

ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad narrated to us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Numayr narrated to us, from ʿUbayd Allāh, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, who said: The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “There are five creatures that may be killed without blame by a person in the consecrated state”—or he said, “there is no blame in killing them”: the scorpion, the crow, the kite, the rat, and the biting dog.
