Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us: Wakīʿ narrated to us, from Mūsā ibn ʿUbaydah, from ʿAlqamah ibn Marthad, from Ḥafṣ ibn ʿUbayd Allāh, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: Fever was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, and a man reviled it. The Prophet said, ‘Do not revile it, for it removes sins just as fire removes the impurities from iron.’
