حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَانَ يُضَحِّي بِكَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ وَيُسَمِّي وَيُكَبِّرُ وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ يَذْبَحُ بِيَدِهِ وَاضِعًا قَدَمَهُ عَلَى صِفَاحِهِمَا .

Naṣr ibn ʿAlī al-Jahḍamī narrated to us: my father narrated to me. [A second chain:] Muḥammad ibn Bashshār narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us. Both said: Shuʿbah narrated to us: I heard Qatādah report, from Anas ibn Mālik, that the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) used to sacrifice two speckled, horned rams. He would pronounce the name of God and proclaim His greatness. I saw him slaughtering them with his own hand, placing his foot on their sides.
