ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ibrāhīm al-Dimashqī narrated to us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Nāfiʿ narrated to us: Abū al-Muthannā told me, from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah, from his father, from ʿĀʾishah, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “On the Day of Sacrifice, no deed of a human being is more beloved to God, Mighty and Majestic, than shedding blood. The animal will come on the Day of Resurrection with its horns, hooves, and hair. Its blood reaches a place of acceptance with God, Mighty and Majestic, before it falls to the ground, so offer it wholeheartedly.”
