حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَلْبَسٍ، قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ - صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ - إِلَى شِرَاءِ الضَّحَايَا . قَالَ يُونُسُ فَأَشَارَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ إِلَى كَبْشٍ أَدْغَمَ لَيْسَ بِالْمُرْتَفِعِ وَلاَ الْمُتَّضِعِ فِي جِسْمِهِ فَقَالَ لِي اشْتَرِ لِي هَذَا . كَأَنَّهُ شَبَّهَهُ بِكَبْشِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ .

ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Shuʿayb narrated to us: Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz informed me: Yūnus ibn Maysarah ibn Ḥalbas narrated to us, who said: We went with Abū Saʿīd al-Zuraqī, a Companion of the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him), to buy sacrificial animals. Yūnus said: Abū Saʿīd pointed to a dark-mottled ram, neither tall nor short in build, and said to me, “Buy this one for me.” It was as though he considered it like the ram of the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him).
