Number of persons for whom a camel and a cow is sufficient
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا هَدِيَّةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، أَنْبَأَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى، أَنْبَأَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ عِلْبَاءَ بْنِ أَحْمَرَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فِي سَفَرٍفَحَضَرَ الأَضْحَى فَاشْتَرَكْنَا فِي الْجَزُورِ عَنْ عَشَرَةٍ وَالَبَقَرَةِ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ .
Translation
it wasnarrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said
“We were with the Messenger ofAllah (ﷺ) on a journey, and the (day of) Al-Adha came. We(sacrificed) one camel on behalf of ten (people) and one cow onbehalfof seven.”
