Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَنْ يُضَحَّى بِمُقَابَلَةٍ أَوْ مُدَابَرَةٍ أَوْ شَرْقَاءَ أَوْ خَرْقَاءَ أَوْ جَدْعَاءَ .
Translation
Muḥammad ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ narrated to us: Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us, from Abū Isḥāq, from Shurayḥ ibn al-Nuʿmān, from ʿAlī, who said: The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade sacrificing an animal with the front of its ear cut, the rear of its ear cut, a split ear, a pierced ear, or a severed ear.
