Sunan Ibn Majah 3145
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جُرَىَّ بْنَ كُلَيْبٍ، يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا، يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ نَهَى أَنْ يُضَحَّى بِأَعْضَبِ الْقَرْنِ وَالأُذُنِ .
Translation
Ḥumayd ibn Masʿadah narrated to us: Khālid ibn al-Ḥārith narrated to us: Saʿīd narrated to us, from Qatādah, who mentioned that he heard Jurayy ibn Kulayb report that he heard ʿAlī narrate that the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade sacrificing an animal with a broken horn or ear.
