Sunan Ibn Majah 2739
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَحْرٍ الْبَكْرَاوِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّ أَعْيَانَ بَنِي الأُمِّ يَتَوَارَثُونَ دُونَ بَنِي الْعَلاَّتِ يَرِثُ الرَّجُلُ أَخَاهُ لأَبِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ دُونَ إِخْوَتِهِ لأَبِيهِ .

Yaḥyā ibn Ḥakīm narrated to us: Abū Baḥr al-Bakrāwī narrated to us: Isrāʾīl narrated to us, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-Ḥārith, from ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, ruled that full siblings inherit to the exclusion of paternal half-siblings: a man inherits from his full brother, who shares both parents, and not from his paternal half-brothers.
