حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، وَسُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ بَيْعِ الْوَلاَءِ وَعَنْ هِبَتِهِ .

ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad narrated to us: Wakīʿ narrated to us: Shuʿbah and Sufyān narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dīnār, from Ibn ʿUmar, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade selling the bond of clientage and giving it as a gift.
