حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلاَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَالْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ، قَالاَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ يَرِثُ الصَّبِيُّ حَتَّى يَسْتَهِلَّ صَارِخًا " . قَالَ وَاسْتِهْلاَلُهُ أَنْ يَبْكِيَ وَيَصِيحَ أَوْ يَعْطِسَ .

al-ʿAbbās ibn al-Walīd al-Dimashqī narrated to us: Marwān ibn Muḥammad narrated to us: Sulaymān ibn Bilāl narrated to us: Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to me, from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyab, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh and al-Miswar ibn Makhramah, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “A baby does not inherit until he cries aloud.” The narrator said: “Crying aloud means that he cries, cries out, or sneezes.”
