Muhammad ibn Abd al-A‘la al-San‘ani narrated to us; Sufyan narrated to us. He said: I heard Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir say: I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: ‘The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit me on foot, and Abu Bakr was with him, while I was among Banu Salimah.’
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The Arabic says the Prophet visited Jabir walking, with Abu Bakr also mentioned; it does not explicitly state in this wording that Abu Bakr came to visit him too.
