Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us; Abu Mu‘awiyah narrated to us; al-A‘mash narrated to us, from al-Hakam, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Ali, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Whoever visits his Muslim brother walks among the fruits of Paradise until he sits down. When he sits, mercy envelops him. If he visits in the morning, seventy thousand angels invoke blessings upon him until evening; and if he visits in the evening, seventy thousand angels invoke blessings upon him until morning.’

The Arabic uses the image of walking in the harvest or fruit-gathering of Paradise. ṣallā ʿalayhi here is rendered as the angels invoking blessings upon the visitor.
