What was narrated concerning the times when the funeral prayer should not be offered and the deceased should not be buried Sunan Ibn Majah 1520
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، أَنْبَأَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْيَمَانِ، عَنْ مِنْهَالِ بْنِ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـأَدْخَلَ رَجُلاً قَبْرَهُ لَيْلاً وَأَسْرَجَ فِي قَبْرِهِ .
Translation
It wasnarrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)placed aman in his grave at night, and he lit a lamp in his grave.
