Sunan Ibn Majah 1524
حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، وَسَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ مَاتَ رَأْسُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَأَوْصَى أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَأَنْ يُكَفِّنَهُ فِي قَمِيصِهِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَكَفَّنَهُ فِي قَمِيصِهِ وَقَامَ عَلَى قَبْرِهِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ {وَلاَ تُصَلِّ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ مَاتَ أَبَدًا وَلاَ تَقُمْ عَلَى قَبْرِهِ} .

Ammar ibn Khalid al-Wasiti and Sahl ibn Abi Sahl narrated to us; they said: Yahya ibn Sa‘id narrated to us, from Mujalid, from Amir, from Jabir, who said: ‘The leader of the hypocrites in Medina died and left instructions that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform the funeral prayer over him and shroud him in his shirt. The Prophet did so, shrouded him in his shirt, and stood at his grave. Then Allah revealed: “And never perform the prayer over any of them who dies, nor stand at his grave.”’
