What was narrated concerning the prohibition of wailing Sunan Ibn Majah 1579
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، مَوْلَى الصَّهْبَاءِ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ{وَلاَ يَعْصِينَكَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ}قَالَ: " النَّوْحُ
Translation
It wasnarrated from Umm Salamah from the Prophet (ﷺ) regarding
“Andthat they will not disobey you in Ma’ruf (all that is good inIslam);” he said: “(It is about) wailing.”
