Ahmad ibn Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi narrated to us; Ja‘far ibn Awn narrated to us, from Abu al-Umays, who said: I heard Abu Sakhrah mention, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid and Abu Burdah, who said: ‘When Abu Musa became gravely ill, his wife Umm Abdullah came in, crying out loudly with a wailing sound. He regained consciousness and said to her, “Do you not know that I disavow those whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) disavowed?” He used to tell her that the Messenger of Allah said, “I disavow those who shave their heads, raise their voices in wailing, and tear their garments.”’
