Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us; Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Abu Bishr, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would fast until we said, ‘He will not break his fast,’ and he would refrain from fasting until we said, ‘He will not fast.’ He did not fast a whole month continuously except Ramadan, from the time he came to Medina.
