What was narrated concerning a man who wakes up in a state of sexual impurity and wants to fast Sunan Ibn Majah 1703
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلمـ يَبِيتُ جُنُبًا. فَيَأْتِيهِ بِلاَلٌ، فَيُؤْذِنُهُ بِالصَّلاَةِ فَيَقُومُ فَيَغْتَسِلُ. فَأَنْظُرُ إِلَى تَحَدُّرِ الْمَاءِ مِنْ رَأْسِهِ. ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ فَأَسْمَعُ صَوْتَهُ فِي صَلاَةِ الْفَجْرِ .قَالَ مُطَرِّفٌ: فَقُلْتُ لِعامِرٍأفِي رَمَضَانَ؟ قَالَ رَمَضَانُ وَغَيْرُهُ سَوَاءٌ
Translation
It wasnarrated that ‘Aishah said
“The Prophet (ﷺ) used to spendthenight in a state of sexual impurity, then Bilal would come to himandinform him that it is time for prayer. So he would get up and haveabath, and I would see the water dripping from his head, then hewouldgo out and I would hear his voice during Fajr prayer.” (One of the narrators) Mutarrif said: "I said to Amir: 'Was that during Ramadan?' He said: 'InRamadan and at other times.'"
