Ali ibn Muhammad narrated to us; Waki narrated to us, from Hisham al-Dastawa’i, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik, from Zayd ibn Thabit, who said: ‘We ate the pre-dawn meal with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then rose for prayer.’ I asked, ‘How much time was there between them?’ He said, ‘The amount of time it takes to recite fifty verses.’
