حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يُقَبِّلُ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ. وَأَيُّكُمْ يَمْلِكُ إِرْبَهُ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَمْلِكُ إِرْبَهُ؟

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us; Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from Ubaydullah, from al-Qasim, from Aishah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss while fasting. She added: ‘Which of you has control over his desire as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had control over his desire?’
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The Arabic says ‘his desire’ without naming an object; that wording is retained.
