حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنْ تَعْجِيلِ صَوْمِ يَوْمٍ قَبْلَ الرُّؤْيَةِ .

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us; Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Sa‘id, from his grandfather, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade beginning the fast a day before the sighting.
