What was narrated concerning fasting on the day of doubt Sunan Ibn Majah 1646
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلمـ عَنْ تَعْجِيلِ صَوْمِ يَوْمٍ قَبْلَ الرُّؤْيَةِ .
Translation
It wasnarrated that Abu Hurairah said
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)forbade anticipating the fast by fasting one day before sighting (ofthe crescent).”
