Sunan Ibn Majah 1775
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ بْنُ غَزِيَّةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ اعْتَكَفَ فِي قُبَّةٍ تُرْكِيَّةٍ عَلَى سُدَّتِهَا قِطْعَةُ حَصِيرٍ . قَالَ فَأَخَذَ الْحَصِيرَ بِيَدِهِ فَنَحَّاهَا فِي نَاحِيَةِ الْقُبَّةِ ثُمَّ أَطْلَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَكَلَّمَ النَّاسَ .

Muhammad ibn Abd al-A‘la al-San‘ani narrated to us; al-Mu‘tamir ibn Sulayman narrated to us; Umarah ibn Ghaziyyah narrated to me, saying: I heard Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) observed i‘tikaf in a Turkish tent, with a piece of woven mat at its threshold. He took the mat in his hand and moved it to one side of the tent. Then he put his head out and spoke to the people.
