حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ اعْتَكَفَتْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ فَكَانَتْ تَرَى الْحُمْرَةَ وَالصُّفْرَةَ فَرُبَّمَا وَضَعَتْ تَحْتَهَا الطَّسْتَ ‏.‏

Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us; Affan narrated to us; Yazid ibn Zuray‘ narrated to us, from Khalid al-Hadhdha’, from Ikrimah, who said: Aishah said: One of the Prophet’s wives observed i‘tikaf with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). She would see red and yellow discharge, and sometimes place a basin beneath it.
