Sunan Ibn Majah 1766
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتَوَائِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ اعْتَكَفْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ الْعَشْرَ الأَوْسَطَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ " إِنِّي أُرِيتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فَأُنْسِيتُهَا فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ فِي الْوَتْرِ " .

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us; Ismail ibn Ulayyah narrated to us, from Hisham al-Dastawa’i, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri, who said: We observed i‘tikaf with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) during the middle ten days of Ramadan. He said: ‘I was shown the Night of Decree, then made to forget it. So seek it during the last ten days, on the odd-numbered nights.’
